2026 CSF Net Building Class
Instructor: Lee Dockstader
Net Building classes will be on December 8th, 10th, and 15th. It is run again by Lee Dockstader and the location will be at his home shop in Camas. Class hours are 6:00 to 8:00pm but the last class will be from 6:00-9:00pm. Class size is limited to the first 4 people so sign up now to enroll. Net choice priority is in order of signup. i.e. 1st to enroll gets 1st pick of which net to build.
If there is enough demand, a second class will be held on Feb 9th, 11th and 16th.
If the class is full when you sign up for this class, be sure to still fill out the registration form so you can be added to the waitlist. Anyone on the waitlist will be automatically added to the class if someone cancels. Also, anyone on the waitlist will receive priority registration for the next class if it becomes available.
Base Fee for Wood Handle (see pic below)
CSF provides the wood strips and Lee will provide handle wood 'at cost' (per base fee schedule below).

- LD T16 - $20
- LD3 Net - $25
- LD6 Net - $25
- LD1/LD2 - Net - $35
- LD5 Net - $35
Payment: Please pay the 'at cost' expenses directly to Lee Dockstader at the first day of class. If you have any questions, Lee Dockstader's email address will be provided once you sign up for the class.
Note: The net bag (kit) and wood finishing material (applied on the handle) is purchased separately by you, the craftsman. A downloadable PDF document of the curriculum and materials will be provided to class participants once they sign up for the class.
Class Schedule
December 8th (6:00-8:00pm)
- Select and Steam wood strips
- Bend wood and let dry (include handle blank)
- Select handle wood from Lee
December 10th (6:00-8:00pm)
- Lee provides CNC machined handles
- Glue Wood together including final handle into forms
December 15th
- Scrape off excess glue
- Flatten with wide belt sander
- Bevel edges on router table
- Cut net cord slot
- Drill holes for net cord
Finish at Home
- Sand
- Apply finish (purchased separately - PDF instructions in registration email)
- Attach net (purchased separately - PDF instructions in registration email)
